What We Do
Since 1968 Christmas payments have been awarded to long serving former employees of the family companies.
The Trust is unique in New Zealand as it remains connected to those long serving employees since 1973 when the companies were sold to public companies until they closed down in the 1988.
Guy and Tas McKee had strong views that the Trust should provide for staff who had worked hard during the formative and growth years of the companies.
Even though the companies no longer exist, Trustees have been meeting annually with former staff for a Christmas lunch and keep in touch to this day.
“We are most dependent on our team…I think we should consider our employees.”
Tas McKee’s letter to brother Frank McKee
